About Flector Patch
Flector Patch (diclofenac epolamine patch) is a prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which is applied topically for the treatment of acute pain. It is available as a 10cm by 14 cm stick-on patch. The adhesive substance consists of 1.3% diclofenac epolamine. The formula comes with a non-woven polyester felt backing and a polypropylene film release liner. The liner is peeled off and the patch is applied to the affected area.
Flector Patch Treats Acute Pain
The active ingredient is the Flector Patch is diclofenac epolamine which decreases the agents that cause pain and swelling in the body. The patch is applied over areas where an acute pain is experienced. Acute pain is a temporary pain that can feel like stabbing, burning, twisting, tearing, or squeezing.
This type of short term pain is often caused when tissues of any part of your body undergo damage or tear. Acute pain commonly occurs after minor injuries, such as strains, sprains, spasms, and bruises. This patch is not designed to treat chronic or long-term pain.
Before Using Flector Patch
Before using Flector Patch, inform your doctor if you have had allergic reactions to any medications in the past, especially NSAIDs. How to Use Flector Patch
Flector patches should be used as per the doctor’s instructions and the directions on the label. The topical system is applied to the area where the pain is experienced. Each patch can relieve symptoms for up to 12 hours and should be removed and discarded afterward. If the condition persists, apply a new patch for another 12 hours. However, using the patches excessively can be harmful.
The patch can be secured with medical tape if it’s not sticking properly. A mesh netting sleeves can also be wrapped around the patch, but refrain from using a bandage or any covering over the patch which inhibits passage of air.
The patch should never be applied on the skin with cuts, wounds, eczema, rash, burn, or infection. Remove the patch, fold it in half by keeping the sticky side in, and dispose of it. After the application and removal of the patch, wash your hands. Used and unused patches must be kept out of the reach of children or pets.
