What is Combivent Inhaler used for?

Combivent Inhaler is an inhalation aerosol prescribed for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with emphysema and bronchitis. This is prescribed to people who are already on a regular bronchodilator but do not respond adequately and require a second bronchodilator.

This is classified as an anticholinergic and a beta2-adrenergic agonist.

Combivent Inhaler generic name is Ipratropium Bromide and Albuterol. This is available in Combivent Inhaler 20/100 mcg aerosol.

How does Combivent Inhaler work?

This inhalation aerosol is a combination of two active ingredients. Ipratropium bromide impedes vagally mediated reflexes by antagonizing acetylcholine’s actions, leading to bronchodilation. Albuterol increases cyclic adenosine monophosphate, which relaxes the airways’ muscles, making breathing easier.
